Not really but I really wanted to share the story behind this series which I started about a year ago.
Within each piece is a segmant of pali text, which is a form of snskrit written by the burmese . I have always been fascinated by the text as my mother had been handed down an original scripture of palinese text written on ivory and gold edging... It alwys emanated such beauty and devotion... So I decided to begin an artistic exploration with this in mind. what I came to with it is that truth ( illumination) remains regardless of the hardships and challenges we endure , for example the beauty and devotion contained within them. It reflects my own journey and that of all humans everywhere, that of transformation and yet staying the same ... the truth remains.
So here is the latest in that series and the last one remaining in my possession for a while , I would love to make some more but who knows what will happen

It can be a challenge... but my question is and remains unanswered.... Does buiding an online presence really help you sell your work? So far it hasnt helped me at all... I can't have any exhibitions for a while and thought I'd try it out... its been about 6 months all up, slowly building it up and by no means have i gone all out, but I'm getting there with having a presence on the web and its fun to... but very time consuming, especially with a 4 year old and another baby due in January.....
So I really need to sell some work, I realised after not working for a while that this is the most broke I have been since leaving highschool...

This painting i started in 2006 and thought it was finished when I took this photo earlier this year... but alas it was one of those projects that has decided to hang around forever and ever and re-evolve itsself from time to time.. Its about on its 3rd or 4th incarnation at the momment. when I actually replace my camera that was stolen i can take an updated photo of it... Im not happy with its current form but should take a picture of it before i once again change it... Iguess it could be that Love is so enigmatic and formless and changable that this painting is changing so much...
Its inspired by love and will ontinue to be inspired by love.

This image called"Dëluge"was created in 2005. Its about the great cycles of time and was influenced by this fanstic book called"The seven sisters of the Pleiades"by munya andrews, published by spinifex press. Its a bautifully composed book of comparative myth on this star system from indigeonous and European peoples from time and beyond time. It has wonderful insight into how we lived by these incredible stars and the relationships between weather patterns and the great cycles of time.
This piece of art talks about thses great cycles and relates it back to the microcosm of our own bodies and how nature is reflecting of the natural cycles of our lives.
Lucky for me it was bought presale for the exhibition I was having at the time, which was based around woman's spyche in relation to body our menstral cycles.
Its an oil on canvas painting.
